It's almost over!
Ready to pop this baby out and get life rolling. Don't get me wrong about being "impatient". But sleeping difficulties, leg cramps, hurting feet, acrobat baby movemnts and walking like a elephant makes me mentally ready to say, just come out! I've been fortunate to have an healthy pregnancy so far. Never experienced morning sickness or throwing up. Found a way to prevent myself from having "fat lady feet" 24/7. Its amazing my trick works. :)
February was very boring month of the pregnancy. Just lost intrest, then all of sudden things got rolling very fast when sunny weather hit DC. I'm driving DJ insane with my pet peeve burst of spring cleaning. On the other hand its good. Getting an clean environment for all of us. Plus started taking childbirth classes. Sometimes its so boring, I want to just go asleep. Somedays its intresting and learn new things.
The hip pain drove me nuts and finally had a prental massage recently. Was suprised I had so many "knots" from my neck to to hips. Even my arms and feet! Wish I had gotten one way earlier. i'm definitly going to get another one next month. Poor backside needs the pampering.
Best of all, I look forward to Summer 2009! I've never exprienced more than a week off from work in my entire life. That is no joke. I even go to work when I feel like crap. Already started brainstorming what to do this summer.

It's....
Its a boy! A stubborn baby boy for sure. During the session, the tech tried several times to get him to move his arms out of his face. Personally, she was a little cuckoo talking to the screen like crazy. But no offense to lady, she really loves her job. I'm happy with the decision to get an3D. Because later a regular boring 2D ultrasound, really it wasn't anything much to see.

Attended We Are One: Kickoff Inauguration concert at Lincoln Memorial. It was an awesome experience in person. The people jumping for joy and cheering. Feeling the baby restless moving when Garth Brooks and the crowd shouted the words to the song "shout out loud" Nothing like watching it on TV. Took a rare moment, of being grateful for past leaders such as Lincoln, Roosevelt, JFK and MLK who helped paved the way for the liberty we have today. Being thankful, to live in a country where laws such as ADA, made the concert accessible to deaf and disabled persons.
A final thought in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King:
With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day...........will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:
Free at last! Free at last!
Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!

Celebrating Change Now
Off the point for a bit, acknowledge the inauguration countdown madness. I received this clip that I had to share. With a little touch of music. Enjoy!

I went to sleep last night tired from the fight
I've been fightin' for tomorrow all my life yeah
I woke up this mornin' feelin' brand new
Cause the dreams that I've been dreamin' have finally came true
It's a new day...
It's a new day...
It's a new day...
It's a new day...
It's a new day...
It's been a long time comin'
Up the mountain kept runnin'
Songs of freedom kept hummin'
Channelin' Harriet Tubman, Kennedy, Lincoln, and King
We gotta manifest that dream
It feels like we're swimmin' up stream
It feels like I'm stuck in between
A rock and a hard place
We've been through the heartaches
And lived through the darkest days
If you and I made it this far well then
Hey! we can make it all the way
And they said no we can't and we said yes we can
Remember it's you and me, together
I woke up this mornin' feelin' alright
I've been fightin' for tomorrow all my life
Yeah, I woke up this mornin' feelin' brand new
Cause the dreams that I've been dreamin' have finally came true
It's a new day...
It's a new day...
It's a new day...
It's a new day...
It's a new day...
It's a new day...
It's a new day...
It's been a long time waitin'
Waitin' for this moment
It's been a long time prayin'
Prayin' for this moment
We've hoped for this moment
And now that we own it
For life I'm 'a hold it
And I won't let it go
This is for our fathers
Our brothers, our friends
Who fought for freedom
Our sisters our mothers
Who died for us to be in this moment
Stop and cherish this moment
Stop and cherish this time
It's time for unity
For us and we
That's you and me, together
I woke up this mornin' feelin' brand new
Cause the dreams that I've been dreamin' finally came true
Yeah, I woke up this mornin' feelin' alright
Cause we weren't fightin' for nothin'
And the soldiers weren't fightin' for nothin'
No Martin wasn't dreamin' for nothin'
And Lincoln didn't change it for nothin'
And children weren't cryin' for nothin'
It's a new day!
It's a new day!
It's a new day!
It's a new day!
It's a new day!
It's a new day!
It's a new day!
This is a Norman Rockwell painting of Ruby Bridges ...
... the little black girl who had to be escorted to school by federal marshals. "On November 14, 1960, nearly 42 years ago, Bridges faced hostile crowds as the first black child to attend a previously all-white New Orleans school. She was 6 years old and had only been told by her mother that she was going to be attending a new school that day and 'had better behave.
Little did she know that she would be bombarded with jeers and even death threats, and that she would end up being the sole child in her first grade class after other children were kept home by their parents." All because Ruby was Black.
Forty-eight years later -- January 5, 2009 -- here is a picture of Sasha Obama, a little 7 year old Black girl, being escorted to school by her mother, First Lady-elect Michelle Obama, and the Secret Service because Sasha's daddy is now President-elect of the United States, Barack

Name, Cravings, and Active Baby

The ultrasound to find out the sex of baby is scheduled right before inauguration week. Finally can be more serious about figuring a name. If its a boy, maybe "Barack" will be its middle name. In arabic, the name means "blessed". Also a boost of self confidence for him, so when he grows up he'll tell everyone he's named after the 44th President of U.S.A.
My new cravings are pickles must be "dill" and "chunky" while large french fries from McDonalds and nice thick chocolate milkshake. Ofc, daily vitamins, milk, eggs, green veggies, and lean meat are part of my diet. But give me a break, I'm allowed to splurge on my cravings.
Finally I can feel the baby. It feels like a bad case of gas actually. Its very odd feeling. hard to describe other than sometimes the movements leads to bathroom jail again. As long it doesn't disturb my sleeping, no complaints. Smile.
I've fallen in love with JCPenny. After various trips to stores and many failed attempts to find pants. Finally, I walked out with a full bag of clothes today. Motherhood and Mimi Maternity are annoying! They sell size 2 Regular "maternity" jeans. Who in their right mind stays a size 2 and pregnant! Not to forget the increased buttocks, that can't fit down those skinny jeans. I was getting so frustrated. If I had the talent to sew, I would love create a petite maternity line. Unfortuantely, my highschool project left me unmotivated to try to sew. The shirt I made, had one sleeve shorter than the other. What's more embarssing, the class required wearing it the entire day get a final grade. Ofc, I don't own it anymore. It went straight to the trash can afterwards. LOL.

Sad Good Bye
Today's surprising event, gave us a reminder always be prepared for the unexpected. Discovered the truck engine blasted, very early in the morning. DJ is going through "grieving" process of his beloved first car that he had for 15 years. It was sad to see the truck end that way. At the same time, we are very thankful that no cars were parked near it. And nobody got hurt. the fire dept says it obviously was the old engine. Another thing to be thankful for, his family had backup cars ready to use. So everything worked out. Except DJ's greif over losing his truck in such a sad way.
Never less, a reminder for both of us, got to be prepared for unexpected emergencies. Again, when will post the pix of blasted car when I finally stop procrastinating uploading the pixes:)

Bathroom jail

After the 1st Trimester I thought would see less of the toilet. Ironic, my bladder is weaker and am going restroom every 10 to 15 minutes. I'm not exagerrating, someone pointed that out while I was attending my monthly scrapbook divas crop.
Doing Kegel excercises will hopefully make this problem less. Meanwhile, got a big suprise this weekend, and received crib, changing table, seat booster, and swing rocker from Sonya. Plus she says more stuff is on the way. Sonya, you rock!
The sad news for me, is I had to buy a new bra. Sooner or later it was going to happen, I'm sad because I want to be "B" size. not another extra number and remain an "A".
I wonder is there any possible way to go back to my old size. Am hanging on to my multiple old bras just in case.
Still wondeirng if I can feel the baby move? Nope! but I felt its heartbeating fast one day while I was laying on my back. Speaking of my back, my upper back right shoulder blade is so sore! I'm not sure if its because my boobs spread out or because I sleep on my side too long. So I'm looking into getting pregnancy massage this month. I found an 1 hour service for an good price. I want the pain gone! the back shoulder is feels liked I cracked my bones. Carrying a baby is a lot work.
BTW, finally discovered the Scanner CD. So will definitly post pregnancy pixes very soon!
