Its a boy! A stubborn baby boy for sure. During the session, the tech tried several times to get him to move his arms out of his face. Personally, she was a little cuckoo talking to the screen like crazy. But no offense to lady, she really loves her job. I'm happy with the decision to get an3D. Because later a regular boring 2D ultrasound, really it wasn't anything much to see.
Attended We Are One: Kickoff Inauguration concert at Lincoln Memorial. It was an awesome experience in person. The people jumping for joy and cheering. Feeling the baby restless moving when Garth Brooks and the crowd shouted the words to the song "shout out loud" Nothing like watching it on TV. Took a rare moment, of being grateful for past leaders such as Lincoln, Roosevelt, JFK and MLK who helped paved the way for the liberty we have today. Being thankful, to live in a country where laws such as ADA, made the concert accessible to deaf and disabled persons.
A final thought in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King:
With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day...........will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:
Off the point for a bit, acknowledge the inauguration countdown madness. I received this clip that I had to share. With a little touch of music. Enjoy!
This is a Norman Rockwell painting of Ruby Bridges ...
... the little black girl who had to be escorted to school by federal marshals. "On November 14, 1960, nearly 42 years ago, Bridges faced hostile crowds as the first black child to attend a previously all-white New Orleans school. She was 6 years old and had only been told by her mother that she was going to be attending a new school that day and 'had better behave.
Little did she know that she would be bombarded with jeers and even death threats, and that she would end up being the sole child in her first grade class after other children were kept home by their parents." All because Ruby was Black.
Forty-eight years later -- January 5, 2009 -- here is a picture of Sasha Obama, a little 7 year old Black girl, being escorted to school by her mother, First Lady-elect Michelle Obama, and the Secret Service because Sasha's daddy is now President-elect of the United States, Barack Obama:
I went to sleep last night tired from the fight I've been fightin' for tomorrow all my life yeah I woke up this mornin' feelin' brand new Cause the dreams that I've been dreamin' have finally came true
It's a new day... It's a new day... It's a new day... It's a new day... It's a new day...
It's been a long time comin' Up the mountain kept runnin' Songs of freedom kept hummin' Channelin' Harriet Tubman, Kennedy, Lincoln, and King We gotta manifest that dream It feels like we're swimmin' up stream It feels like I'm stuck in between A rock and a hard place We've been through the heartaches And lived through the darkest days If you and I made it this far well then Hey! we can make it all the way And they said no we can't and we said yes we can Remember it's you and me, together
I woke up this mornin' feelin' alright I've been fightin' for tomorrow all my life Yeah, I woke up this mornin' feelin' brand new Cause the dreams that I've been dreamin' have finally came true
It's a new day... It's a new day... It's a new day... It's a new day... It's a new day... It's a new day... It's a new day...
It's been a long time waitin' Waitin' for this moment It's been a long time prayin' Prayin' for this moment We've hoped for this moment And now that we own it For life I'm 'a hold it And I won't let it go
This is for our fathers Our brothers, our friends Who fought for freedom Our sisters our mothers Who died for us to be in this moment Stop and cherish this moment Stop and cherish this time
It's time for unity For us and we That's you and me, together
I woke up this mornin' feelin' brand new Cause the dreams that I've been dreamin' finally came true Yeah, I woke up this mornin' feelin' alright Cause we weren't fightin' for nothin' And the soldiers weren't fightin' for nothin' No Martin wasn't dreamin' for nothin' And Lincoln didn't change it for nothin' And children weren't cryin' for nothin'
It's a new day! It's a new day! It's a new day! It's a new day! It's a new day! It's a new day! It's a new day!
